Pet Trade

Exotic geckos are prized by collectors. The tail knotted into a bow signifies the trade in geckos as “gifts”. The knot can also symbolises problems, plus breeders mixing genetics. The red stool is a metaphor for human activity and a small and artificial environment where geckos live. The illegal trade in geckos has decreased populations to the point where some species are now critically endangered.
